Skyrocketing Homeowners Insurance?
Nearly half (47%) of homeowners said their insurance has experienced a premium increase in the past year, the highest rate of increases in more than a decade, according to the J.D. Power 2025 U.S. Home Insurance Study. Separately, data from ICE Mortgage Technology says that costs for homeowners insurance have risen 70% in the past five years.

The Freedman’s Bank offered a safe depository for formerly enslaved people, expanded quickly and gained millions in deposits – mostly ranging from $5 to $50. But inexperience and corruption doomed it to failure, costing may of the small depositors their savings.
